On behalf of our client, we have immediate start for a maintenance fitter this is long-term work and can easily turn to permeant work.

Job description:

  • Complete daily Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) maintenance PPM and other planned maintenance procedures.
  • Performing mechanical setting and adjustments in accordance with machinery manufacturers’ instructions.
  • Carrying out work necessary to repair failures on sheet metal working equipment (Turret punch and Laser experience ideal).
  • Attend breakdowns, diagnose, and repair to a given standard.
  • Have a flexible approach to working hour to accommodate any out-of-hours requirements including, but not limited to.
  • Availability by phone and in person (on-call); and/on
  • Weekend working.
  • Maintain and support improvement of work areas to 5s standards.
  • Carry out FMECA out and develop PPM where necessary.
  • Planning and prioritising workload including special projects within set timescale.
  • Clear and consistent communication with colleagues and suppliers.
  • Identifying and implementing efficiency and cost savings opportunities.
  • Covering your department colleagues during Holiday and other absence periods.
  • Ensuring that health and safety guidelines are followed, and that the working environment is safe.
  • To perform basic IT skills (email, raise purchase requisitions and document handling) (SAP experience ideal)
  • Managing/supporting the spare part process (using agreed documentation) for all machine assets to include when/where necessary.
  • Identification.

  • Stock control.

The successful candidate Ideally should have (training can support):

  • Ability to always seek continuous improvement.
  • Relevant experience and qualifications
  • Comprehensive experience/Knowledge of working with metal working process machinery.
  • knowledge of single/Three phase electrical systems.
  • knowledge of electronic control systems.
  • knowledge of Punch and Laser cutting equipment – advisory.
  • Have knowledge of Pneumatic and Hydraulic systems and components.
  • Have good organisational skills.
  • Be able to complete tasks to a satisfactory conclusion and to a high standard.
  • Be punctual and reliable.
  • Have a good understanding of Health and Safety and safe working practices.
  • Have a flexible approach to work and working hours.
  • Be able to work alone or as part of a team.
  • Be enthusiastic, keen to learn, self-motivated.
