Wood Shop Supervisor

 

On behalf of our client we have immediate and excellent opportunity for an experienced production supervisor.

 

Achieve production deadlines by communicating job expectations, planning, and monitoring job.

Implementing a production plan by producing and scheduling works orders, assigning personnel, establishing priorities, monitoring progress, revising schedules.

 

Maintaining staff motivation by training employees and encouraging development, delivering weekly toolbox talks; resolving problems,

 and where necessary taking part in the disciplinary process. s

 

Maintains a productive workflow by monitoring steps of the process and ensuring efficient use of personnel, resources, and equipment.

 

Reviewing production methods; developing reporting procedures and systems; enabling corrections to malfunctions and errors.

 

Maintains production quality by establishing and enforcing organization standards and company policies and procedures.

 

Ensures efficient operation of equipment by highlighting the need for repairs and maintenance,

evaluating new equipment and techniques, maintaining and where necessary repairing equipment.

 

Maintaining a safe and clean work environment by educating and coaching personnel on the use of equipment and resources;

 maintaining compliance with established Health and Safety policies and procedures.

 

Responsible for the working force; resolving personnel problems, investigating issues; identifying solutions; recommending and/or acting.

 

Fostering a spirit of cooperation within and between departments and keeping a good line of inter­ departmental communication going.

 

Monitor and maintain daily production reports, identifying bottlenecks and resolving in-efficiencies within production to maximize daily output.

Monitoring stock levels of fixings and consumables, liaising with colleagues when re-orders may need to be placed.

 

Any other agreed duties required by the Company's Management.

 

 

 

Preferred Skills and Qualifications:

 

Production Planning, Supervision, Man -management, First Aid certified, Counterbalance Forklift License, Basic understanding/ interest of woodworking.

 

 

Additional Requirements

 

This is a family business and consequently, you may be required to cover for other staff members because of holidays or sickness.

You may therefore need to show a level of flexibility in the roles you are asked to perform. In such instances, full training will be provided.
