On behalf of our client we are now recruiting for a Quality Control – Despatch manager.

Our client is a long-established and highly regarded manufacturing organisation, (non-food), seeking to add to their friendly, successful and dynamic workforce.

Working Days, Monday to Friday, the successful applicant must have a strong manufacturing background with experience in Production Manage, Quality Control and some HR related matters.

The successful candidate will have prior experience in the below areas:


  • To investigate ways of reducing both build times and improving and maintaining quality in the back end process
  • To ensure that the use and condition of all materials during the production processes is controlled.
  • To ensure that risk assessments and safe methods of work are in place and to maintain the highest standards of H.S.E. compliance, both statutory and advisory in all parts of the operation.
  • Organise, control and direct the activities of team leader and production operatives within department
  • Organise and control the work within the department / section in accordance with the production plan and priorities as defined by the Production Plan.
  • Ensure that work is completed within the allocated time and the planned completion date.
  • Assist in the investigation of all jobs which have a labour variance outside the limits defined by the Factory Manager
  • Liaise as required with other company sites
  • Take responsibility on site for the following:-

a) Weekly Transport list.

b) Paperwork issued to the Shop Floor, timelines/accuracy/utility admin to print and prepare packs.

c) QC units in line with company target and Production plan.

d) Despatch all units within 1 hour and delivery vehicle arriving on site or nominate time on Transport List


  • You would be responsible for monitoring, enforcing and the compliance of H & S.
  • Ensure that all plant / equipment is properly and safely used and that all required checks inspection, tests and calibration are carried out.
  • Ensure correct health and safety procedures are followed at all times.
  • Ensure your areas are kept in a tidy and safe condition.

R & D

  • When required contribute to the generation and development of production methods, productivity, resources initialisation and product design.


  • Ensure that all work is carried out to the required standard and that all required inspection and test records are completed and signed off.
  • Understand the companies policy of Quality Assurance and ensure compliance with documented procedures and production of units in particular with regards to IS0 9001
  • Promote a positive quality culture focussed on meeting customer requirements and achieving customer satisfaction.
  • Proactively encourage workforce and business departments to work together as internal suppliers and customers to each other. Work towards setting agreed internal SLA’s and monitor against agreed objectives and targets set.
  • Monitor and report on effectiveness of improvement actions arising from customer complaint investigation.
  • Assist in quality improvement measures associated with product development and value engineering exercises


  • When required carry out relevant investigations during times of disciplinary
  • Ensure that production operatives are properly trained in tasks performed within the department using the company’s training process.
  • When required assist the Factory Manager and HR Manager in the selection of new employees.
